About the tauranga districts
New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB) is a membership organisation set up by a group of trade qualified builders in 1998. These builders, led by Tauranga’s Craig Wilkinson, wanted to create a group that would protect homeowners from unqualified builders and unethical practices and promote excellence in building standards.
An industry leader, NZCB has an extensive membership of builders throughout New Zealand proudly carrying the NZCB stamp of approval. Each builder is trade qualified with a strong history of stability and success. Not only are homeowners guaranteed first-class knowledge and expertise when working with an NZCB approved builder, each home is covered by New Zealand’s Halo 10 year residential guarantee for peace of mind throughout the building journey.
NZCB has established 22 Regional Associations around the country. Each region has its own active committee led by a local President. These Presidents meet regularly to ensure information from the Board and National Support Office is disseminated to members efficiently and vice versa.

The construction industry is an ever-evolving realm filled with countless variables, challenges, and opportunities. For over two decades, I have been a proud members of the New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB), an organization dedicated to supporting and fostering excellence within our industry. I’m Mike, and it’s my privilege to serve as the Tauranga Districts President for NZCB, a role I thoroughly enjoy.
As part of the larger NZCB team, which includes 22 regional Presidents, the Board of Directors, and the National Support Office team, we’re on a relentless mission. Our goal is to streamline processes, provide valuable resources, and create a supportive network for NZCB members. The construction industry is inherently dynamic, and it’s crucial to have a community that fosters learning, collaboration, and growth.
One of the highlights of my role as the Tauranga Districts President is the opportunity to connect with members like you. Through our events and gatherings, we aim to strengthen our bonds and exchange insights. These interactions enable us to collectively contribute to the growth and improvement of our industry.

golf day for men's mental health
On the 26th of September 2024, we hosted a golf day at Renner Park for Men’s Mental Health, it was a fantastic day and for a great cause. All money raised went to Mates in Construction. Due to the huge success, we will be hosting this event every year, so get ready for September 2025!
